This weeks Clutter Challenge should you choose to accept it is to create a maybe box. What is a maybe box you ask? Its simple. A maybe box is a box you fill with all the items you find yourself saying, maybe Ill use this one day. Its time to rid your cabinets of unused smore makers and chocolate fondue sets. Weed the playroom of toys below your childs level. Pitch shoes you never wear (but think you will.) Dump jackets that are a size too small, extra purses and tote bags, home décor items that are not your style anymore, years of cooking magazines and keep going! The list is endless. Here are the directions to make your one maybe box this week: simply toss the items in the box, label the box with the contents inside, tape the box shut and write a date of six months in the future on the box. In six months when the date arrives toss or donate the box WITHOUT looking inside. But for the next six months the item still lives in your home, so if you do need it you can get it and you wont have to spend money buying another one, so it is sort of a safety net. This works, I promise, give it a shot. Youll feel lighter and freer. Make one box this week. I know you can do it. Shop at home first, I bet you have a box that will make a perfect maybe box! Be sure to stop by iVillage to share your success story, we cant wait to cheer you on. Because life gets much simpler when you can find what you need when you need it- this is a great start!
