Simplify Your Space
This week's clutter challenge is about simplifying your space to make more room and time for you! Paring down to just what you use and love (or what the IRS says you need to hold onto) brings a sense of calm to your space. When you can find what you need when you need it you are less stressed and feel more successful. I suggest you Keep the Best and Toss the Rest, repeat this mantra to yourself as you follow these three simple steps to get started: Step 1 Toss the easy stuff Grab a garbage bag and walk around your home filling it with items that should have gone in the trash a long time ago. Do this for eighteen minutes or until the bag is full. Start easy, try expired items like food, medication, or coupons. When you are done take the bag directly out to the garbage. Step 2 Stow the Memories Designate one box, bin or other container to be a treasure box. Label it as such and spend eighteen minutes gathering eighteen items to go inside. This is the perfect home for all the sentimental items that you want to keep but that dont have a home. Here are a few examples, playbills, vacation souvenirs, greeting cards and favorite t-shirts too threadbare to wear. Tip: if an item is too large to fit in the treasure box take a picture of it and let the actual item go. Step 3 Find a good home for items you dont use and love Grab a garbage bag and walk around your home gathering gently used items you dont use and love. Do this for eighteen minutes or until there are eighteen items in the bag. When you are done put the bag in your car and drop it off to a local charity on your next errand day. That's it for this week's challenge, I know you can do this, I can't wait to read your success story! Have a clutter-free day, Jamie
