Piles and Files
tame the paper pile today

Do you have a paper pile? Or maybe many paper piles? Do you have a stack of papers to be filed? Can you actually get into your filing cabinet or is weeding the file drawers another task on your to-do list?

Well if you have papers sitting out, a pile of papers to be filed and an overstuffed filing cabinet don’t feel bad, you’re not alone.

Although you may not have time to weed your entire file cabinet this week I hope you can try this week’s challenge to create five new files, today.

Try focusing on the pending files, such as:

Day Trip Ideas
Halloween Party Tips
Incoming bills
Children’s sports schedules
Vacation ideas
To read
To file
Recipes
Receipts
Coupons
And so on

Many times, we leave papers out so we won’t forget where we put them. By starting out with a few files, you will quickly gain confidence when you need a paper and can find it.

And where to keep these files? How about a tabletop file box for the kitchen counter, a decorative basket on the dining room table or a hanging folder container hung on the inside of a pantry door?

Life gets much simpler when you can find what you need when you need it- this is a great start! Happy organizing, Jamie

PS Ready to take this challenge to the next level? Try making the five new files PLUS spend 18 minutes weeding the front of one of your filing cabinet drawers. I know you won’t be done, but it is a great start!
