Noting What Worked
and what didn't

For this week's challenge while the memories of the Thanksgiving holiday are still fresh this is the perfect time to make a few notes about what worked (and what didn't.)

Grab a piece of paper and jot down notes to yourself that you'll find helpful next year. If you still have any of your shopping lists or to do lists these can be helpful to hold onto as well.

Make notes about how much food you served, was it too much or not enough? Did you run out of anything? Was something a big hit? Did you like the brands you bought?

How did you decorate? Where did you store the entertaining items? Do you have leftover holiday decorations to use next year?

Any great recipes? Any recipes flop? What other good tips do you want to remember? You get the idea...

This great tip came in from Karen as a suggestion for the winter holidays but it works great for Thanksgiving as well: We were in a quandary about the "best" arrangement for the furniture, and over the years we'd tried several variations.

Last year, finally, after many attempts, we had it just the way it works best, so, right then and there, I made a quick sketch and tucked it into the storage boxes for reference the following year. Thanks Karen!

You can take all these notes to self and do one of three things:

1. Clip them to your Nov. 2008 calendar

2. Pack the notes in a fall decorations box

3. Start a holiday notebook, a three ring notebook with a few sheet protectors in it. Slip in your notes and you are all set.

That's it for this week's challenge, until next Monday have a clutter-free week, Jamie

This month I want to highlight another helpful product: the Car Trunk Organizer. With all the holiday shopping now underway this is especially helpful. But it also works year-round!

Eliminates clutter, keeps items from rolling around in the car. Over sized top zips closed.

Easily collapses for storage under seat or side cargo pocket storage.
An easy way to keep bags of groceries upright! No more spilled shopping bags - your car trunk or vehicle floor will stay tidy with this helpful auto organizer.

The folding cargo bag eliminates clutter and prevents items from rolling around in the back of your automobile. Over sized top zips closed for additional security. Three outer mesh pockets allow easy access to maps, tissues, etc. Attaches to most carpeted floors with velcro attachment strips. When not in use, this collapsible car trunk organizer easily folds away for storage under your car seat or in a side cargo pocket. Dimensions: 23-1/2"L x 13-3/4"W x 12-1/2"H. $30.
