Let's celebrate World Breastfeeding Week

Health e-Learning: The Leaders in convenient, quality education.

World Breastfeeding Week

August means breastfeeding promotion time in most countries. This year the theme for World Breastfeeding Week is "Breastfeeding: The First Hour - Save a Million Lives!"
That's a very tall order ... 1,000,000 lives. Did you ask yourself how this could possibly be true? I must admit I did :-(. That was before I heard Dr Arun Gupta speak on this topic at the GOLD07 Conference. If you can't see how it can be done take the time to go through Dr Gupta's powerpoint slides, reading his notes. Such simple practices that cost NO money - such an incredible outcome!

Health e-Learning is keen to spread the word too. This year we're making breastfeeding education even more affordable. Go to the link on the right to see how you can receive a course from our acclaimed BreastEd series FREE. If you're needing CERPs, or studying for next year's IBLCE exam, or just wanting top-quality, convenient professional development then look no further. Be sure to tell your friends too.

We're not the only ones wanting to support your educational needs this month. The online journal Breastfeeding Medicine is offering free access to all of its previous journals for this month only.
One article I found fascinating was an historical look at the prevention and treatment of breast abscess from a lecture delivered to medical students in 1855. I'm sure you'll also enjoy it. Click on the title to read it: A Lesson from the Past: Excerpts from a Clinical Lecture on the Treatment of a Breast Abscess, by Dr. Gunning S. Bedford (c. 1855)

And last, but not least, Health e-Learning will be exhibiting at ILCA in San Diego. Please come and say hello, ask us questions and take a look at what an online course is like if you haven't seen one before. You'll be delighted at how easy and enjoyable studying can be.

These offers and links should keep you busy this month
Until next time,
Enjoy those mothers and babies,
