Happy World Breastfeeding Week!
How will you celebrate World Breastfeeding Week? Most places use this great opportunity to focus on increasing public awareness of breastfeeding and breastfeeding issues. I hope you'll also take this time to give yourself and your colleagues a pat on the back for a job well done. You deserve it.
Here at Health e-Learning we celebrate World Breastfeeding Week for the whole month! The office has been a-buzz for weeks now with preparations. Our motto is Convenient, quality education and this month we're making it even more convenient and, quality-wise, we give you the best in the World.
Firstly - right through August you can receive one of our very popular BreastEd courses absolutely FREE - see below for more details.
Also - how often have you been to a conference and listened to a great speaker, frantically scribbling a few notes as they spoke, then wished you could hear it all over again, and again? With the release today of the Experts-in-Lactation Lectures that's just what you'll be able to do. There are 15 lectures from World experts in their field to choose from - some of them FREE.
And last but not least - expect to hear from me again mid-August when I'll give you more details about our Advanced Practice courses. These short courses are being developed for experienced Lactation Consultants to extend their knowledge and skills of clinical issues. The first of these is Breastfeeding the Baby with a Cleft/Lip Palate. Keep an eye out for it.
I hope you'll find something perfect for you in our celebrations,
Until next time,
Enjoy those mothers and babies,

Denise Fisher, IBCLC

PS: How do you like our 'pink edition' just for WBW?
Launch of Experts-in-Lactation Lectures
Experts-in-Lactation Lectures bring you the very best speakers from around the World to your computer at your convenience. Some of these lectures were recorded at GOLD08 and some will be brand new - recorded especially for this series.
You'll be able to watch and listen while the lecturer presents their information using Powerpoint or other audio-visual aids. Most lectures only take an hour and the handouts make note-taking very easy. Most of these sessions offer CERPs and CEUs too.
Listen now to Dr Mark Cregan talking about stem-cells in breastmilk, and Dr Brian Palmer explaining how breastfeeding protects against obstructive sleep apnea. Bridget Ingle's lecture on diagnosing the cause of nipple damage was one of the most popular at GOLD08 - you can hear her here, now! Go to Experts-in-Lactation Lectures to read all about them, and many more. You can register and have access to them immediately.
Capturing Breastfeeding Culture Worldwide sessions at GOLD08 gave us all an insight into breastfeeding cultures in other countries. You can view 6 of these sessions FREE. Register and view these presentations now at SummitZero.
