Springs News

Equine related projects are warming up as spring approaches, the grass greens and buds begin to pop. The horses are excited for the summer season and to work with those of you who seek to expand your awareness and consciousness through developing a relationship with them.

Article in Holistic Horse
Please look for my article The Language of Equus; Energy and Emotions in the Spring 2007 edition of Holistic Horse. Click for Article This article offers some key points and distinctions on how to work with your emotional body, for your safety, and to offer respect and a genuine connection with your horse.

Wild Mustangs
For the last few years I have felt a calling to help the preservation of the Wild Horse herds on our public lands and to bring awareness and education to people about the gifts the wild horses have to offer. Last week I had the privilege to visit the Cannon City Prison's wild horse program and to meet four wonderful Pryor Mountain Mustangs with Ginger Kathrens, the Emmy Award winning cinematographer for the White Cloud DVDs and books, and the founder of The Cloud Foundation

I am thrilled and honored that Ginger is going to place one of these wonderful horses with me, to be a part of my programs. Unlike most mustangs that are adopted, these four are six years old bachelors. After being captured they were placed in a holding facility. Which means they would live the rest of their life doing nothing but standing around in a field or paddock, a free spirit being confined in a human designed prison. There are currently 30,000 plus wild horses being kept in holding facilities.

The Pryor Mountain mustangs DNA traces back to the Spanish conquistadors. These horses represent a great part of your history. The wild horse population is smaller and smaller every year. Each year beautiful are disappearing in the genetics of the remaining horses. Many mares were injected with a drug to reduce fertility. It was meant to last for one year. Three years later the mares are still without foals, or worse, are foaling in the middle of the winter. I am currently seeking volunteers to help me launch a non-profit organization for this cause. Rmail Kathy@coachpike.com if you are interesting in helping with this project and hearing about my vision.

The Book
For those of you who do not know, the last year I have been writing a book about my experiences with horses, and doing EELC work with horses. It is complete! Now I am seeking a publisher. Everyday I pray for the right publisher to come into my life, and for this book to deepen peoples respect and love for the horses, allowing them to forever change our lives.
