The Top 10 Elements of a Sure-Fire Business Plan

Write and implement your business plan today and get a leg up on the Millennium!  Who says you must wait until January 1st to get into action on your business year?  Keep in mind that the key word is ACTION; even the most elegant and comprehensive plan will fail if no action is taken.  Ready, Set, Go!

  • The Numbers

Quantify your ultimate target and reduce it to the daily numbers you need to get there.  Know how much it takes on a daily basis to get the results you choose.

  • The Strategies

What are you going to do to get there?  What are the components of your business?  What must you do to produce the numbers you need?

  • The Tactics

How are you going to accomplish what you are going to do?  What do you need in the way of time, material, support, and resources?  What is your scheme for getting it all done?

  • The What by When

Set up milestones and checkpoints, recognizable events and assessable results along the way,.  These checkpoints will alert and guide you to the course corrections you will want to make to stay on track.  Check and re-group every 30 days.

  • The Accountability

Who are you going to answer to in addition to yourself?  You must agree to touch base regularly with someone else who genuinely cares whether you hit your target.  This person could be your manager, your significant other, your partner, or your coach; just make sure they are as familiar with your plan as you are.

  • The Do-ability

Your plan must have a basis in reality. (You would be surprised how often this detail is overlooked!)  Be realistic, and s-t-r-e-t-c-h.  Challenge, don't overwhelm yourself.

  • The Dedication

Promise yourself to stick with your plan just for now and to re-commit daily.  The heart of dedication is your constant agreement to stay the course one day at a time.  Leave yourself space and grace to change the target if it is in your best interest to do so.

  • The Expensive Benefit

Be extremely clear about the BENEFITS of hitting your target.  If your target is money, know what it represents to you emotionally, because that is where you will find the energy and the courage to keep going whenever you think you can't.

  • The Writing it Down

Your business plan must be in writing and in as much detail as possible.

  • The Review

Read your sure-fire business plan at least once a week.  Let your unconscious mind wrap itself around it and go to work for you.  You will be amazed at what you will accomplish even if this is the only action you ever take.  If you would like support creating your business plan, come to the Jump Start Workshop schedule in Los Angeles in November.  Click here to learn more.
