Welcome to the June issue of Living Out Your Dreams. In this issue we have an article on "How to Recognize and Shift Self-Sabotage", information on a way to stop sp.am that really works and a new book by David Riklan that contains the knowledge of all the top self-improvement gurus in one place. Enjoy! Stacey Email Relief I used to get 500 email messages every night while I slept. The great majority of that was junk mail. I tried a lot of sp.amblockers and the only one I have found to work is Spamarrest. Now I virtually get no spam. When you contact me, you will have to respond to an email once and then you will be able to get through forever (unless you send me spam). I highly recommend this product. You can try it out for fre.e for 30 days. Self-sabotage is a way of avoiding our biggest fears. We have many fears but they all generally relate to a fear of failure or a fear of success. If you have a goal or dream you haven't reached yet because there just isn't enough time in the day, there is a good chance you are self-sabotaging. Distracting yourself with other things to do is a common way to avoid your greatest fears. Often this is unconscious as it is easy to justify all those other things you are doing. Iin today's world, it is easier than ever to get distracted. I know this from personal experience and from seeing it in my clients. Some of us will even create chaos to avoid our biggest fears. Yikes! If the distraction is temporary, say 2 weeks or less, give yourself a break. But if distractions keep getting in the way of your goal, you may want to take a closer look. Questions of the month: What is one goal or dream have you yet to achieve? How focused are you on this goal?
Why is this important to you? Do you really want it or do you think you "should" want it? (If it's a should, it is time to reasses your goals) How many other projects do you have going on at the same time? Most of the time do you feel scattered or focused? This week try focusing on your most important goal/dream/project. Put all other projects and activities to the side for the week (other than those you have obligations or deadlines on). At the end of the week, notice what has happened. Hopefully, you will notice a difference. If you are unable to make progress, consider hiring a coach to help you get you past those blocks and make your dreams a reality.
