Spring has sprung in the Atlanta area and I am so grateful for the warm weather and beautiful blooms on the trees. Spring is a great time for dreams to bloom as well. Is it time for your dreams to blossom? We have all kinds of tips and programs to help you do that in this edition.
For quite some time now, many people have asked to use the Dream Movie for presentations and I have been pretty particular about who I allow to use it. Well all that is about to change as a result of a conversation I had with a woman recently. She told me about seeing the Dream Movie at a presentation at her company and the impact it had on the people there ... touching them, inspiring them to move forward with their goals, and bringing some to tears. She told me you could not hear a pin drop during the movie.
I realized, again, how valuable this movie is for people and the importance of getting this message out. So, starting today, the Dream Movie is now available on CD and may be used for presentations using a PC. Quantities are limited. See below for more information, or click here to order.
On a recent teleclass with some of the readers of "I Can't Believe I Get Paid To Do This!" someone indicated an interest in having me lead a group on marketing for introverts. I thought it was an excellent idea. I also thought it would be good for those who like to work in their jammies, because even though I am not an introvert (or a high extrovert) I like to market from home and draw clients to me. I have lots of great ideas for this program and would like to share them with you and get input on your needs for a more extensive program in the future. So if you are an introvert or just interested in this topic, join me in this conversation to discuss how to make marketing easier than it has been in the past. It will be held on Wednesday, March 29th, at 11:00 ET. To sign up, simply send a blank email to: coach37-157401@autocontactor.com
We have two great new no fee teleseminars entitled "How to Get Out of Your Own Way" and "Why Affirmations Don't Work For Most People." The first is by yours truly along with Andrea Lee. More info is below. And Michael Losier has agreed to come back and do the second one since so many people missed out on the opportunity earlier this month. His first seminar on Attracting Your Ideal Clients was great. If you missed it, be sure and sign up for this one if you want to learn some powerful attraction tools for making your dream happen with more ease.
And we have a new Dream in the Making Story. This one is a twist from our regular stories that revolve around career. In this story, we learn how a single mom attracted and bought her dream vacation home for herself and her daughter. As usual, there is lots of good stuff you can learn from her experience, regardless of whether you are in the market for a home. Some of the lessons include detaching from your vision to allow for something even better and getting grounded in your reason "why".
And lastly, I want to give you, my subscribers, a heads up. Many of you took advantage of the low, low introductory price of $99 for the Living Your Dreams Home Study Course. Kudos for acting quickly. This price will go up to $139 soon and will likely go up more in the future. So if you were even thinking about it, now is the time. Go here for more info and act while you can still get it at such an incredibly low price.
Best wishes in living out your dreams.

Dream in the Making
A second home in the mountains is a dream come true for Tricia
Tricia can be an inspiration to you, whether you are in the process of attracting a roommate, your first home, your second home, or anything else. Eight years ago she decided to adopt a little girl as a single mom and transitioned to part-time work so she could be available more for her daughter. More recently she went back to work full-time and bought a second home in the mountains for herself and her daughter. She is continuing to clarify her desires and create her life in alignment with those desires.
Below, Tricia describes the experience of attracting and buying her second home.
What is your big dream?
I really haven't formulated my next big dream. Ten years ago I would have said it's to be a Mom; since then I've adopted a little girl, and now I've been a Mom for nearly 8 years. So I'm in the middle of living out that dream and loving it.
What is a another dream that you have accomplished more recently?
My most recent big step was to buy a second home in the woods in North Georgia. This is something I'd been thinking about for at least 25 years -- before I ever thought about having a child. I had done some looking around and talking to people on occasion, but never really zeroed-in on any specifics, and I had pretty much forgotten about this for years. Then a friend mentioned that she knew of a cabin that was about to be available at a place called Bent Tree. My daughter and I went up and looked at the cabin that weekend, spent about 2 hours with the owner, and we both fell in love with the cabin.
What challenges did you have along the way?
My first challenge was to adapt my old fantasy of a cabin-in-the-woods to my current situation. I had an image in my mind of an old rustic cabin, right on the water, with acreage and in a remote area. This cabin wasn't that! It was about 7 years old, furnished, not exceptionally rustic, on a half-acre lot, just off the lake, and in a development. But as I thought it through, it became clear to me that I didn't want an old rustic cabin--I wanted a fairly new cabin, walk-in ready, requiring little upkeep. This cabin met those requirements. Check. I also realized that I didn't want to spend the kind of money it would take to get right on the lake--I wanted to have a cabin with a water view for a lot less money. Check. And as a single working Mom with a young daughter, I wanted it to be a short drive from Atlanta, and in a secure area with a few neighbors and amenities. Check.
What, if anything, were you resisting or what doubts did you have?
I resisted negotiating the purchase after I found out the owner now had a realtor and I would have to pay more than I originally thought. Previously, when I'd purchased my primary homes, I really knew the neighborhoods and the options, and I had felt pretty confident about the financial wisdom of what I was doing. Here, I hadn't even looked at anything else. I felt unprepared. Eventually I realized that one of the reasons I'd never made a cabin purchase was because I'd never done the thorough research I thought I needed to do. And I realized that I wasn't going to do it now, either, since I absolutely did not have time. So if I was ever going to buy a cabin, it had to come to me and basically fall in my lap. Check!
Pick one or two challenges and tell me how you overcame them.
I got a lot of help letting go of the rustic-old-cabin-in-the-woods fantasy from my friend who first told me about this cabin. She was so enthusiastic about her cabin and how much she enjoyed it with her daughter that she helped me create a whole new fantasy about enjoying the cabin-wading in the stream, canoe trips in the early morning mist, trail rides with horses, hot chocolate by the wood-burning stove in the winter, swimming in the lake, mother-daughter conversations in the car on the way up and back, and memories of it all forever. She also put me in touch with other people I knew who lived there, and they all ginned-up a lot of excitement and enthusiasm about the possibilities.
As for the purchase negotiations, my wonderful coach guided me through. It took only a few days, but they were a tough few days. What really kept me in the negotiations was to focus on my own needs and hopes, and here's where my coach was so valuable. After I made my first offer, I received a counteroffer that was higher than I expected, and I got very upset and was ready to walk away. Stacey helped me formulate and articulate my hopes and needs, rather than to focus on what the realtor and the owner might or might not want. And what I wanted was a walk-in-ready cabin, for me, for my daughter while she was still at an age to really enjoy it, and for my elderly dog who didn't have many months left with us. I had another price in mind that I would find acceptable if only they had offered me that, so rather than walking away, we talked about my making a counteroffer. I did that and by the next day we had a signed contract. I'm pretty sure I would have walked away from the negotiations, or else delayed them too long, if I hadn't gotten help on this.
How did or does it feel to have done this?
Now that I've had the cabin nearly a year, it's so clear it was the right choice that I can hardly believe I had so many doubts. I love going up there, my daughter loves it, and it was a lovely treat for my dog in her final months. My family and friends enjoy gathering there, whether with us or on their own. And there are so many wonderful things that I hadn't even imagined. My daughter loves to walk to the little beach with her friends and play in the sand for hours. She's going to have her tenth birthday party as a spend-the-night at the cabin, with a trail ride too. We're taking horseback riding lessons, which was another thing on my to-do list. I love having a place that doesn't need any real work, but I can add a few decorative touches here & there. I'm re-learning how to hang out and do nothing, read novels, and put puzzles together. I love just knowing it's there.
What did you learn as a result?
I learned how important it is to try to articulate what I want, even when I don't know exactly what it is, and to talk about it and move towards it. I learned to trust the universe more to bring me what I want. This is an evolving trust and I can't say I'm out there taking big risks yet, or trusting when an opportunity or blessing comes to me. But I'm on the right path.
Lessons from Tricia's story
1. Your original vision may different from what you want now. Be open to learning more about what you want in the process.
When Tricia first thought about a cabin, she thought about something rustic. Once she saw a cabin that was in great shape and virtually needed no fixing up, she realized that was much better suited to her situation as a single mom who works full-time. She also realized that it would work much better for her to have the cabin be a shorter driving distance to her home in the city.
The truth is we attract what we are in alignment with and Tricia attracted a cabin that her subconscious mind knew was perfect for her and soon her conscious mind did too.
Coaching Question:
Where are you attached to a particular vision that has not come true yet?
That vision may be perfect for you or perhaps it could be even better than what you first imagined. Open up to the possibility that your dream could look different than you previously imagined ... that it could be even better.
2. Remember what is important to you - your reason why.
When Tricia's friend described how much joy her cabin brought her and her daughter, Tricia remembered why she wanted it in the first place. Focusing on why she wanted it allowed her to get back in the game and view the negotiations differently.
If this had been an investment property, then her reason "why" would have been different and the negotiations would have been different. But it was not and if you spent time at Tricia's cabin and felt the energy of this wonderful place (which I got the opportunity to do one weekend) you would know she got a good deal anyway you slice it.
Coaching Questions:
What is your dream? Why do you want it? Being grounded in why is a necessary component to sticking with your dream and making it a reality.
I discuss how to get grounded in your reason "why" and the importance of it in much more depth than we have room for here in Chapter 6 of "I Can't Believe I Get Paid To Do This!"
