I am back from vacation and re-charged and ready to go. For this issue, I have an article on how to create a dream team. If you have a dream, you need a team to support you - do not attempt to do this by yourself. It is the long, arduous way and you can only get so big by yourself, so read this article for ideas on many ways you can create a team regardless of whether you are just starting on your path or ready to take your dream to new heights or start on a new one.
Many of you have heard me talk about vitamins for the mind. Well I am excited to share with you a brand new book that fills that prescription really well. The book, to which I contributed, is 101 Great Ways to Improve Your Life and you could literally read one chapter per day for 101 days and get great inspiration, tools and ideas to support you in moving forward on your dream each day. More info is below.
Best wishes in living out your dreams,

Creating a Dream Team
By Stacey Mayo
Do you have a dream that is not coming true or perhaps isn't happening fast enough? Have there been naysayers who squashed your dreams and told you they are not possible, you are not good enough or you must be crazy? These people are a dime a dozen. Perhaps the biggest naysayer has been inside your own head, telling you why your dream is not possible. When we listen to these naysayers or gremlins, we get stopped in pursuing our dreams or sometimes get off our original track. We can easily get caught up in the societal norm of what is acceptable to do or be, even if that is contradictory to our own dream.
One way to counteract the naysayers is to create a dream team of people who believe in you and your dream and will actively support you in making it come true.
I cannot emphasize enough the difference that a positive support system can make in your life and living out your dreams. You may be one of those people who have always done things yourself. That's okay. But it is definitely the hard way. Sharing your ideas with supportive people creates new ideas, resources and ways of doing things that you may not have thought of by yourself. It also helps to counteract the gremlins.
One way to start finding these people is to start sharing your dream. When I told people I was writing "I Can't Believe I Get P-A-I-D To Do This!", people spontaneously started suggesting names of people who they could put me in touch with for interviews. It was heartwarming and fun to have people contributing to my dream. And I got connected with lots of people I wouldn't have known otherwise, some of whom, like Tom Glavine of the NY Mets and Loral Langemeier, the Millionaire Maker, ended up in the book. Others became close friends.
In addition to that, I had other support in writing the book - a coach to support me and get me past my gremlins, a mastermind group, marketing experts, a graphic designer, an editor, a proofreader, a printer, someone who helped brainstorm the title and on and on. Without each of these people, the book would not be the award-winning book it is today.
As a result of writing the first book, I was approached to contribute to a second book, 101 Great Ways to Improve Your Life, which is mentioned above. This book is written by a team of 101 authors and experts in the self-help field. There is no way any one person could put together the wide diversity of self-help information contained in that book. There are experts in nearly every field, from overcoming stress and anxiety, to prosperity, to relationships and addictions. There is something for everyone. And the best news is I didn't have to put together the experts or the team -- David Riklan did that for us.
So choose one dream that you are committed to making coming true and start sharing your dream. If people respond negatively, cross them off your dream team list. You'll probably not want to hang out with them much while pursuing your dream. But don't let them stand in the way. There are plenty of people out there who will be supportive.
A dream team can take the following forms. Choose one or more ideas from the list below or create your own:
- It can be one or more persons who really believe in you, such as a significant other or a coach who is trained to support you and get you past the humps.
- It can be a group of experts who serve as your board of directors and meet regularly to advise you in attaining your big dream.
- It can be several individuals who you know you can call upon for support as needed.
- It can be different individuals who support you in different areas of your business, such as an accountant, lawyer, bookkeeper, assistant, web designer, copywriter, etc.
- It can be people who have already done what you want to do - people who can mentor you and help shorten your learning curve.
- It can be people who share a common interest and common niche with whom you can form joint venture relationships.
- It can be people who have expertise or connections in areas in which you don't - i.e., the Dream Movie was created with my idea and a team of technical people who knew how to make it look and sound good.
- It can be a local dream team group or coaching group that meets regularly and support each other in their dreams. Examples of our coaching groups include Living Your Dreams and In The Flow.
- It can be a mastermind group that brainstorms ideas with each other.
What is one step you can take to get support for living out your dream today? You can start with one person and build a team as you grow. Write it down on your calendar and take action to make it happen.
Parody on Health Industry
Here is another internet movie. This is different than the others I have passed along in that it is a parody about what Dr. Mercola sees happening in the health and pharmaceutical industry. I thought it was interesting. Check it out here, or copy/paste this URL into your web browser: http://www.mercola.com/townofallopath/index.htm
