3. Feature Article - Client Story / Attraction
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"I can't wait to tell Kristin about this..." she thought. "This attraction stuff really works!"
Recently, one of my clients had one of her first experiences with "attraction." She "magnetized" exactly what she wanted and needed. Even though we've talked about "attraction" several times, *Marianne* was surprised it was happening to her.
Many of you have read about "attraction" and how to turn yourself into a magnet for everything you want in the world. I've shared a bit of scoop about how I've "attracted" media interest, too...So, how does this attraction thing work anyway? Well, let me tell you a story about Marianne.
Marianne recently declared her desire to become a professional artist. A painter. We talked about it. Dreamed about it. Discussed what it would be like... Planned for it, etc. One of her first "assignments" was to create space for her painting. She needed room to create her art. Even though she is only hobby painting now, Marianne needed to paint on a regular basis in order to increase her "attractivesness and magnetism" toward becoming a painter...
So, Marianne toured her home in search of the ideal nook to set up her easel. Soon, she realized there was not an ideal space for her in her home. So, we chatted about that. "Where will you be able to paint and develop your new career?" I asked.. Quickly, Marianne replied, "You know, I need a studio. That is what it will take. In a studio, I'll have the privacy I need to be fully creative.. But, that's too expensive. Renting a studio will cost too much..."
Finally, we decided Marianne needed to build her studio at home. She had the perfect space for it and admitted she often sat there dreaming of what it would be like to have her own studio at home...She knew EXACTLY where the studio could go...It had the perfect amount of light and privacy for painting...In fact, many of our coaching calls were conducted while she sat in the empty space, dreaming about her life as a professional artist.
Next, Marianne and I discussed HOW she could build the at home studio. This was an ongoing conversation for several months.. The big obstacle was the COST. It seemed too expensive and impossible...
Have any of YOU run into this scenario???? You know what you want, yet there is some obstacle getting in your way. It's during times like these when you need to "magnetize" yourself to "attract" the good fortune you'll need to carry off your dream...
Back to our story...
Stuck in financial limbo, I asked Marianne to list out some details about the building project. What would be the ideal budget? How would she like to complete the building? Could she do some of it herself (the ultimate do-it-yourself job, right!)?
Armed with very specific details, Marianne told me she had a budget of 10K (or so, not sure of details), and wanted her hubby to do some of the building to manage costs. She also listed out the IDEAL QUALITIES of the builder/contractor. This was part of her assignment, too... "He must share my vision for the space, be willing to work with my husband on it, be excited to work on the project (etc.)."
Next, I asked Marianne to LOOK for her IDEAL builder/contractor. So, she put the word out...No one showed up fitting the description. NO luck yet finding the right person.. Worse yet, she kept hearing how tough it would be to complete the project within her budget. Very discouraging...
Then, Marianne took another CRITICAL step toward attracting the "good fortune" she needed to move forward with the studio. She took a month long painting class on the beach, out of town (how fun!). In other words, she engaged in her passion - painting, for a solid month!! And, in doing so, she super charged her magnetism ten-fold...
Within days of returning from her painting retreat/workshop, a new client was referred to her in need of a new logo design (Marianne's current biz). In passing, he mentioned he was a part-time contractor, too. Marianne JUMPED at the opportunity to ask him to look at her space for a studio to get an opinion...
Well, to make a long story short, he agreed to design the space (for a trade of his logo design) and build it with Marianne's husband within budget. He was EXCITED and shared Marianne's vision for the studio. The perfect guy had arrived.. He was the exact description of the list of "ideal qualities" Marianne made months before...
Why did this work??? How did Marianne attract exactly what she needed?
Let's review...
1. Marianne was clear about what she needed. She stated an intention. She intended to build a studio.
2. She listed out the ideal qualities of the project. Cost, personality of the builder, etc.
3. She "stepped into the moment" by hanging out in the open space dreaming about what it would be like to have walls there...Her very own studio! We conducted many of her coaching sessions, while Marianne sat in the space (outside).
4. **She increased her attractiveness/magnetism by taking the painting class and painting for a solid month.. This got her reallllly excited, and "feeling" is what helps us attract what we want.
5. She was aware of clues/opportunities. When her new client casually mentioned he was a contractor, she quickly asked him to check out her space...
One of my goals, as a coach, is to help people ATTRACT what they want and need. It is incredibly exciting to see this happen, too.. I'd love for you to learn from Marianne's story and put together a plan to attract something you really want.. It's not too hard to do, you know.. First, start with an intention... What do you really want? Hmmmm?
Now, let the magic begin and see how "magnetic" you truly are...
Oooh la la, this is fun stuff!
Enjoy your week.
Kristin

What ONE thing could your stop doing or start doing that will lighten you up this week?

Coaching Offer/Single Session:
Have you ever wanted to consult with a coach before making a big decision to be certain it will be a good one for you? Would an unbiased opinion be helpful? What if you could develop a strategy or game plan to guide you?
There are loads of situations where it would be smart to consult with a coach. If you are faced with making a job transition, developing a new idea or simply stuck in a rut, in need of brainstorming ideas, want to increase your sales quickly, if you are a budding coach in need of some expert advice, or desiring more clarity about life, up for a promotion or in need of help to close a sale or land a job, etc., it might be good to chat with a someone trained to listen to you on many levels beneath your surface words...
I offer intro/sample sessions and consistently hear feedback about how impacted people are by only one call. Many of my former clients request single session calls, when faced with making a decision or to "check in" and be certain they are on track in life.
As a former client, non-client, never spoken with me before person, or friend of a friend of a newsletter reader etc., you are invited to sign up for a SINGLE SESSION COACHING CONSULT, if you would like some coaching advice but know you do not want to commit to ongoing coaching or do not want to wait for an open spot in my practice...I love problem solving, brainstorming & strategy development and find these sessions very stimulating and fun. Very much so..
Cost:
* $100 for 30 minute lazer session (plenty of time if you are prepared and focused)
* $150 for 40 minutes -50 minutes (to flush out ideas a bit more)
Simply email me and we will pick a time for the phone call, usually within 24 hours of your request. Payable by CC or check.
** I am also still offering monthly on-going coaching with a member of my team (or ME, of course).
