Life in Hawaii is still great. It's actually a chilly 70 degrees today. I know, I know. It is cold for Hawaii, though.
Check out the article below about "winning formulas" and try to discover yours!
Enjoy!

3. Feature Article: What's Your "Winning Formula"?
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
There's something you could do that would impact several areas of your life. Any idea WHAT that might be? I call it the "winning formula" and yours might be different from mine.
Part of my job as a coach is to listen to people. As I listen, I notice trends in a client's life. For ex: One of my clients, let's call him the "Lone Ranger," has struggled to do everything on his own for many decades. He has a successful business, a great wife/kids, and many other trimmings. Yet, he's exhausted. He also knows he can improve, but does not know how exactly.
So, I suggested a new "winning formula" for him. While his old formula (doing everything on his own) was semi-successful in the past, it was time to create a new one. His new formula is..........PARTNERSHIP. I asked him to look for ways to partner with people in ALL areas of his life. Sometimes, the only way to avoid exhaustion is to get some help! That's what he needed to do, if he wanted to continue to grow his business and his life.
Let's look at how he applied his new winning formula to his life.
1. Work - He hired a part time assistant to help with billing. He also found a technical support company to assist with computer related frustrations.
2. Home - Since organization at home was a challenge, he hired an organizing consultant to create a system for the whole family. (Space by the front door for each child's "stuff," an information headquarters in the kitchen to arrange activities, etc.) His family also hired a cleaning service bi monthly.
3. Fitness - Since "working out" solo wasn't quite working out, he decided to "partner" with a group by joining a fitness class and asking the instructor to praise him whenever he showed up. "Hey, great to see you..or... We missed you last week, where were you?!" was all he needed to hear. It motivated him to go to the class since he knew his instructor actually cared.
4. Nutrition - Food was a bit of a scavenger hunt, for my client. Each day around lunchtime, he'd race around looking for take-out or some sort of sustenance (AKA vending machine food) to get him through the rest of the day. Not too healthy. (and he wanted to lose weight). The partnership solution here was to sign up for meal delivery service. Healthy, prepared lunches are delivered to his office 2 times a week and stored in the fridge. The cost is actually about the same as take out, but MUCH healthier.
5. Finances - While his income was very high, his financial plan was nonexistent. So, my client did not FEEL wealthy. After partnering with his bank and asking for free advice or tools, he started saving more and using the online bill payment system as well. He shared his goals with a personal banker and they created a plan to get him moving in the right direction. In addition, I coached him to "partner" with his CC companies by letting them help him pay them off. He called and shared his desire to pay the card off within a year and ASKED for a much lower interest rate on his existing balance. They agreed. (side note: they almost always do....give it a try)
The list goes on...but you can see his winning formula in action above. You'll also notice that many of these "partnership" solutions are free. The others are simply a good investment that will yield greater results. I see it all the time!
What's your winning formula? Is it partnership? Sometimes it takes an unbiased "critical eye" to really see your winning formula, so ask other people in your life to help you. Here's what you'll want to ask them:
Q: In your opinion, what ONE thing could I do to improve several areas of my life?
Ask several people and see what they say. You may be surprised at how clearly other people can see you.
In closing,
A winning formula can make a gigantic difference in your life, if you can discover the right one that fits. So, start looking for yours and put it into action. Remember, your formula needs to be applied to SEVERAL areas of your life, not just one. Here are a few more suggestions that might work for you.
Partial List of Winning Formulas:
* Partnership - discussed above.
* Simplicity - reduce clutter at home, simplify technology at work, decrease personal activities, pare down wardrobe, communicate with fewer words, be BASIC.
* Student - If you are a LEADER (always in charge), try sitting back and learning from your staff members, kids, and everyone around you for a period of time. It will broaden your perspective.
* Risk-taker - Come out of hiding and take some chances. If you always play it safe, this could be an exciting new formula for you.
Start looking for your winning formula and you will discover it soon.
