October 2007 Update from Coach Kevin

So far, 2007 has been incredibly busy and exciting for me, so I wanted to update you on my recent experiences and insights.

If you would like to read the full version of this update with graphics, please go here Coach Kevin's October 2007 Update

While I already had a full coaching practice of dynamic local clients, one entrepreneur I met at the Gazelles conference in Houston, Texas, led to two new clients in Dubai. Now, after three trips there in the past six months, I have six amazing clients in Dubai, and when I return in the fall I will be working with two or three more. Traveling back and forth has been both thrilling and tiring - working in a region with such explosive growth has been an incredible experience.

In addition to my work in Vancouver and Dubai, I have been very excited about everything that's happening with the Gazelles organization. With a focus on fast-growth companies, Gazelles founder Verne Harnish has developed some of the most effective strategies and systems for strategic planning and execution that I have ever applied. His book, Mastering the Rockefeller Habits, is a must read.

With so much going on in my business, I've really had a chance to test the systems and foundations that I put in place long ago. With less time and attention to spare, it was a welcome relief to see that these systems can withstand the pressure of rapid growth. Without them, I would not have been able to accomplish a fraction of the work that I have in the last six months. The best opportunities of my entire career would have passed me by.

To help me keep pace with all these opportunities, I brought on an associate coach (more about him in the full update). As the company grows, I remain committed to my areas of strength and maintaining my sharp focus. Fortunately, I have done a lot of work in the past to understand what keeps me sharp, and I never compromise on my personal recipe for high performance: time to workout and journal in the morning, playful experiences with my family, and regular outdoor adventures with my adrenaline-junkie friends.

Although I'm busier than ever (booked solid until 2008), I am thoroughly enjoying my work and my life; and now more than ever, I am grateful to be of service.
